Christmas Eve Snow.....

We recently went to Hot Springs, Arkansas to see my niece, Madilyn, in her cheerleading competition. While we were there, we took Bryce and Madilyn to see Santa. When Santa asked Bryce what he wanted for Christmas, Bryce said "a snowball fight". We laughed because he had not said this before and because it rarely snows in Texas. Well, on Christmas Eve, Bryce got his Christmas wish. I think that this was the first time that he played in snow. I couldn't believe that it was snowing and my heart was so warm because my son was getting his wish. GOD can do amazing things!

Tasting the snow!

There wasn't too much snow on the ground, so he made a snow angel on the trampoline.

Gathering snow to make a snowball to throw at Mommy!

Even he was amazed that it was snowing!!

This face says it all!! Pure JOY!

Eating snowflakes!
We did not stay out too long because it was very cold and the wind was blowing really strong. Bryce had a great time and I am so glad that he got his Christmas wish. Watch the video below to see him in action!
** Carter was sleeping and it was too cold to take him outside. He is also getting over an ear infection, so he will have to wait until the next time it snows in Texas to have a snowball fight**

Sugar Cookie Baking Round #2

Round 2 of making cookies for Santa!!

Bryce loves to help me cook. He really loves cracking the eggs open and he is getting really good at it.

Carter had to help roll out the dough.

Bryce is getting so big and could do most of this by himself.

The final product and one proud cookie baker!!

Carter enjoyed the sprinkles!!

Pictures with Santa and without tears....

We took the boys to The Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and they had so much fun. The Bass Pro Shop has free pictures and they will let you take pictures with your own camera. They also had crafts and different things to play with. This was the 2nd time for Bryce to see Santa, so he looks kinda bored. He was able to see Santa in Hot Springs, Arkansas, when we went to see his cousin Madilyn in her cheerleading competition. Carter didn't go to Hot Springs, so we had to take him and I was so surprised that he did not cry.

Carter liked Santa and was just talking to him.

Bryce playing the shooting game.

Daddy helping Carter play the shooting game. By the look on Shawn's face, I think that he was enjoying it more than Carter.

Bryce asked if Santa could bring him this boat for Christmas!

Look who is turning 5 today....

Happy 5th Birthday, Bryce!!!

Bryce,

On this day, 5 years ago, you made me a Mommy. Before you were born, I always knew that I wanted to me a Mommy and I could only imagine the love that I would have for you. When you were born, I was amazed at how much I instantly loved you. I couldn't believe that God had given you to me and I felt like the luckiest person alive. In the past 5 years, you have shown me that I am the luckiest person to have you as my little boy and my heart has been warm and overflowing with love because of you. You are a special little boy and I wanted you to know that I love you and hope that you have a great 5th birthday, with many more to come.

Love always,

Mommy

Bryce's Class Christmas Party...

Bryce's class had there Christmas party on the last day before Christmas break. The kids had fun and ran wild. They ate pizza and did a book exchange.
Side story about the book exchange: I bought the book and wrapped it while Bryce was at school. He did not know what book I bought, but he did know what the wrapping paper looked like. Before the book exchange, I left to go see Carter's music performance. When I returned to Bryce's class, he had tears in his eyes and was really upset because he did not get his book (the book that he brought). I tried to explain to him that we exchanged books with our friends, but he just wasn't going to accept that. He thought that he was going to get the book that he brought. He was pouting and would not accept the book that he was given. I was so embarrassed at the way that he was acting. Next year, I think that I will prepare him better before the book exchange.

Saying the prayer before eating... "Thank you GOD, Thank you GOD, for our food, for our food. And our many blessings, and our many blessings. AMEN, AMEN!

Waiting to eat...Bailey, Bryce and Case!

Bryce took this picture of his friend, Bailey! We always joke with Bryce at home that Bailey is his girlfriend. One day, when I was dropping Bryce off at school, Bailey was calling Bryce's name over and over and laughing. Bryce got embarrassed and I thought that it was too cute!

**Carter did have a party and a Christmas music performance and the night before, I charged the video camera and my digital camera to make sure and capture it all. As soon as he saw me, he cried and came and sat in my lap. He was the only kid that did this and needless to say, I did not get any pictures or video.**

Carter, the self entertainer.....

Carter stays home with me on Monday and Wednesday's, while Bryce is at school. Most of the time he is so quiet that I don't even know he is with me. The other day, I was cleaning and I came to check on him and this is what he was doing. He put his blanket on the floor and was reading a book. He is so sweet and growing so fast!!

Sugar Cookie Baking Round #1

The boys could not wait to make cookies for Santa, so the weekend following Thanksgiving, we made the first batch. Carter enjoyed the cookie dough.

Ignore the orange and white swim trunks that Bryce is wearing. I told him to change out of his school pants and this is what he put on. Oh and Carter never wears clothes, we are lucky that he is wearing his diaper for these pictures.

Needless to say, we ate all of this batch and will be baking more before Santa comes!!!

Santa's Holiday for Strings....

Bryce's class took a fieldtrip to the Dallas Children's Theater to see a puppet show called Santa's Holiday for Strings. We haven't ever been to Dallas Children's Theater, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The show was a Christmas themed show done with puppets on strings. It was really cute and Bryce really enjoyed it. When we were leaving, he asked to come back and see another show sometime.
