AMEN...

After several not so great days at preschool, Bryce had a great day today. When I picked him up, the teacher wanted to tell me about his day. Each morning, a prayer is said over the loud speaker, and it is ended with an "Amen". This afternoon, before school ended, the director had a few announcements to make over the loud speaker. Everyone listened quietly to the announcements and at the end, Bryce let out an "Amen". He is so funny and cute! I must say though, that after finally hearing that he had a great day, I had to let out an "Amen" as well.

Carter 14 months old...

Carter is 14 months old today and I just thought I would update with what he is doing now. He is still pretty laid back and loves to roam around the house. He can walk with a swiftness (almost running) and loves to be chased. He also loves to play peek-a-boo and to be scared. He still doesn't talk much because he is still soooo attached to his paci. He does however try to say his ABC's (we sing them all the time because it is the only thing that will get him to lay still for a diaper change). He says A, D and H, I on his own and when prompted, he can say ABCDE. He walks around saying "me" all the time. He loves chicken nuggets and spaghetti to eat. He sleeps from 8pm to 7am and takes 1-2 naps a day. He loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He is really a Mommy's boy and wants to be held all the time. He gets excited when his Daddy comes home from work and gets upset if Shawn doesn't pick him up right away. He is such a blessing and I am thankful to be his Mommy.

Bryce's 1st library book...

On Tuesday's, Bryce's class gets to go to the library at school and today he checked out his 1st library book. It is called, "I wonder why skunks are so smelly". He had a great day today and is still loving preschool. We had our first room mom meeting today and are planning several fun activities for the kids. Our first one is a Fall Festival the week of Halloween. I don't know much about it yet and will keep you posted. Another one is a fundraiser called Dollars for Dells, in which we are trying to raise money for more computers for our computer lab. If anyone has any fundraiser ideas to help with this, let me know. I need all the help and suggestions that I can get. You can tell that I am the "Rookie" room mom.

Carter and Mommy...

My baby is getting so big. He is 13 months old now.
Carter has learned how to take his diaper off now. Also, anytime the dishwasher opens, he comes running. This is how I found him the other day. Silly boy!

Nanny and the boys...

My mom came to town and we went on a cruise for her birthday. The boys love their nanny and Bryce was sad when she left. He loves to help her make coffee in the mornings. All weekend we tried to get Carter to say nanny and he wouldn't. We took her to the airport on Sunday, and after she got out of the car Carter said "Nanny". Little stinker!

Bryce 2nd day of school...

Bryce was just as excited for his 2nd day of school as he was for the 1st. We did have a small problem today. When I picked him up, his teacher said that he escaped out of the classroom and the lunchroom and they had to go find him. I had a talk with Bryce about this and last week we did not have any problems. The teachers are amazed at how smart Bryce is with recognizing names, letters and numbers. He learned a new song called Apple Annie and he also learned his birthday. He loves preschool.

Feelings Hurt....

Today, I woke up with an extremely sore throat and just felt bad. Since I am leaving for a cruise on Monday, I thought that I better go to the Dr. and get something to make me feel better. As I was getting dressed, Bryce asked where we were going. I told him that I didn't feel well and we were going to the Dr. His reply was, "I need to go to the Dr. too because I am sick". I asked what was wrong and he said "I need the Dr. to take my temperature, check my ears, and give me a shot because my feelings hurt". I had to bust out laughing. He says some of the funniest things sometimes. I just love him!

My big boy goes to preschool....

Bryce started preschool today at Wesleyan Christian Academy. We are all very excited about him going to preschool. He will be going on Tuesday and Thursday's from 9-2. They go to spanish class, the library, music class, PE and have chapel on Thursdays. There are 12 kids in his class and all but 1 are boys. The teachers are going to have their hands full. His teachers are Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Melissa. Melissa is the neighbor behind us who Bryce climbs the fence to play in her yard. Needless to say, she is already familiar with Bryce. This morning when I dropped him off, they had toys on the tables for the kids to play with to help distract them from a hard goodbye.
They have hooks outside the classroom for their backpacks and lunch boxes. I ordered Bryce a personalized backpack but it hasn't come in yet. We bought this one at Carter's and it has a matching lunch box.

My big boy, all ready for school. He was so excited and telling Carter that he could not go to school with him.

Last Thurday, the school had open house and meet the teacher night. The bag on the left was for Bryce and had some colors, a silly straw and some candy in it. The bag on the right was for Bryce's parents and it was called a "gem bag".
The note on the front said:
This is a parents supply kit in honor of your little "jewel".
A post-it to make note of all his wonderful achievements
Tissues for all of the moments that will make you proud and for those hard goodbyes
A sponge to prepare you for all that he will absorb this year
A ball to remind you to always take a moment to play everyday
Candy to reward yourself for being such a great parent.
I thought that it was so sweet. I am looking forward to a great year and I hope that Bryce enjoys preschool and learns so much.

Carter in the bathtub...

Carter's favorite time of the day is bathtime. He loves the water and is not scared of itat all. He lays back in the water with his head in the water. He also puts his face under water. He is too funny. Of course, we have to take our pappy (pacifier) in the tub with us. I am amazed at how much he looks like my brother Chris when he was a baby.
